"Learning to Say I Love You" and Other Lessons From My Dad
In today's episode, I got to sit down and have a once in a lifetime conversation with my father.
Every young man idolizes their father, and I was no different. In my eyes my dad was a super hero. As you get older, you slowly start to discover that your hero is in fact human. You get to see them for their amazing qualities, as well as their faults.
My dad is a first responder. He is a paramedic. He has saved lives and he continues to work every day in service for the greater good.
We touched on so many subjects. We spoke about being a first generation American. We talked about struggles of being a young parent and about the different stages in his life. Also, we spent a great deal of time talking about the emotional taxing work of being a paramedic.
This is by far the best interview I have ever done and I am very grateful to my father for taking the time to speak with me in such an honest and vulnerable way.
