A House Full of Love
It’s 9:18 PM. I’m sitting at my kitchen counter and my entire family is asleep. I am waiting for my sweet potato fries to finish cooking because I got home late tonight and am eating a late dinner.
My son has been sick all day. He’s had a fever and it was tough for him to fall asleep tonight. He was moaning and crying when I got home just now, and so I put the camera feed to his room on the monitor so I could keep an eye on him. The monitor is right next to me at the kitchen counter.
Moments ago, I realized that I could hear him snoring through the audio of the camera. He finally fell asleep. He’s out, snoring like a little bear. It really filled me with joy.
I came home from Muay Thai training earlier this evening, and as soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted by a rush of warmth and love. I took a few steps and I saw my family sitting on the couch, reading books and flopping around the way only little kids can do.
Sweet Willow was looking up at me. Her cheeks were red and she greeted me with a toothless and bright eyed smile.
Jules was as beautiful as ever, gleaming at the family that she created.
Everything I have is due to the fact that I am sober and have decided to live my life based on spiritual principles.
Out of all the blessings I have been given, none are as delightful as this house full of love.
I can still hear little man snoring through the monitor, and I am feeling so grateful.
