An Amazing Step Forward
Yesterday, I had a great phone conversation with David.
First, we spoke about how lucky we are to be able to do the work we love while also making a great living. Not everyone has this good fortune and we are extremally lucky to have all been shipped to Florida at the right time together. We’re blessed.
Second, we spoke about focus.
For those of you who follow my work, you know that focus is the center piece of my philosophy. The reason being is that it’s so easy to get distracted and if you can maintain focus, you have an advantage over everyone else.
Now, this is by no means to say that I am an expert on focus and controlling my attention. Staying focused has been a big struggle for me over the course of my life. However, I am pleased to say that I have made much progress over the years, most of which came through morning journaling, intense workouts, and a legitimate effort to improve.
Our conversation enlightened me with even more clarity on where my focus should be for my business. In today’s edition, I will share those focal points with you.
Sober Nation - We are finally in a position where we can improve, expand, and grow Sober Nation. The mistake we’ve often made in the past is trying to improve through big projects. For instance, this guide of the opioid epidemic was a large project, and ultimately, it didn’t bring much value.
The lesson I have learned since Covid, is how important it is to simply show up on a consistent basic and make steady improvements. This is how I’ve grown my Tim Stodz brand so much. There were no “big jumps” of growth, but rather it was about consistent yardage.
That anology of consistent yardage is how we will 3X Sober nation in 2023. If you get 3.4 yard a down, you win the game.Copyblogger - Once Copyblogger Academy relaunches, that is the only thing I am worrying about. My insecurities with learning how to build and sell digital products drove me to change my mind too many times. It’s a problem I’ve had my whole life, and if I would have simply stayed the course, I would be in a much better position.
Lesson learned. In the end, it will be a blessing because it gave me a chance to move the community from Mighty Networks (which sucks) to Circle (which is great). In 2023, I won’t being in any new products outside of what we create within the Copyblogger Academy.TimStodz.com - I have everything I need here. I already have sponsorships for my newsletter booked out, I have an amazing coaching program that people love, and I have a great way to service clients with TGS Media.
My free product is my newsletter, my front end product is access to The Blank Page (which you’re reading now) and my back end product will be coaching / agency services.
I have everything I need. The trick for me is to learn how to control my mind when my thinking gets sporadic and all over the place. Nothing good ever comes from the inability to control my thoughts.
My mental health, my fitness, and my meditation play a bigger role in my business than ever. It’s interesting how success works. Improvement in one thing manifests itself as improvement in all things.
