I’m back in Denver. We got home late last night.
The trip to Belgium was wonderful, but was also been a lot of work. Traveling across the world with two kiddos certainly is a lot different than when Jules and I spent a week alone in Paris.
I haven’t even had time to write my newsletter. So I’m writing this as a way to check in with you, show yo some cool pictures from the trip, and reestablish my writing cadence.
LFG. 🔥
Brussels was cool. It didn’t wow me the way that most other European cities have. It’s sort of like Columbus Ohio. It’s a place that’s almost a cool city but not quite a lame city either.
What separates Brussels from Columbus is the ancient architecture, which obviously is beautiful and mesmerizing.
Day 1: Travel
Truth be told, the entire day is a bit of a blur. We flew from Denver to Chicago, and then from Chicago to Brussels. We booked a Sheraton at the airport and slept for a few hours.
All things considered, The Sweet Girl and The Little Dude did great on the flight. It was hard, but not because they were bad. It was just a long day with constant parenting.
Day 2: Jules Had Her Breathe Work Event
I had the entire day with the kiddos, which was great.
I put them in the double stroller and we walked everywhere. I have no idea where we went, except that we ended up at a playground. I let the kiddos burn themselves out. I got them to bed at like 9 because of the jetlag.
Below is a picture from Jules’ breathwork event.
Day 3: Downtown Brussels
This was fun. The fam and I hiked it all the way to the center of town. It was another long day but we ate waffles (obviously) and got to see the cool architecture of the city.
I ate waffles at every possible occasion.
So did The Little Dude.
Jules and The Little Dude in the town square at The Royal Palace of Brussels. This was a lot of fun. Truthfully, when we got here was the first time when it felt like we could let our guard down and relax and enjoy the new city.
There were waffle stands and Belgium chocolate stores everywhere. We stayed at The Royal Palace for about two hours. We ate waffles (see above), ate chocolate, and marveled at the palace.
The next day we traveled to Antwerp.
I’ll write about that tomorrow.
Thanks for reading and apologies for the huge gaps in my publishing. This trip really was exhausting and we are so happy to be back home.
Love you guys. Talk to you tomorrow.
Tim
So great to hear the latest.
