Boca Digest is Off to a Good Start
What I am doing with Boca Digest is a complete side project. I have no idea if this will work or not, but I want to try.
I’m pleased to say that it has gotten off to a good start.
I teamed up with a sales agency in south Florida, one that understands the Letterhead product thoroughly. We worked out a revenue share where they get 50% of all the revenue they bring in, and the sales they make for Boca Digest.
It didn’t take long for them to provide results. I am thrilled about it.
It’s not much, but the sale will earn me more than $500. My plan is to take all of that revenue and spend it on advertising. The bigger my list gets, the more I can charge. Once I have a bigger list, I can negotiate down the revenue share with the sales agency.
I’m genuinely excited about it. I don’t expect this to turn into a huge enterprise, but I want to figure out a way to make it work because I think local media sites present such a great opportunity for regular people.
I don’t need to go deep into this, as I’ve already made my case in this previous blog post.
If I can crack the code, my next step would be to create a course or a product that would give people a runway to build their own local media sites. I could teach them which content to write, how to collect emails, which type of content goes viral, and how to monetize it through Letterhead.
I’ll keep you posted.
