Curated Or Long Form?
I need your help. Rather, I need your opinion.
Here’s the deal …
I have been sending out my TimStodz.com newsletter for two years. I haven’t missed a week. But I have been experimenting with the format.
I love newsletters. They are great businesses, I enjoy writing them, and they are lucrative.
However, I’m still unsure about the format. I have two options.
Curated.
Longform.
Curated is nice because it is easier, it takes less time, and I believe it is an easier product for my readers to consume. Curated is more “skim - able. “

Then there’s long form. This means that I write a full length article on my blog, and then I publish the article through my email list. It’s not a “newsletter” in the traditional sense, but rather an article sent out through email.
The benefit of this format is that it’s higher quality content. The people who read it become much more interested in my ideas and my message. Long form writing builds the deepest relationship with my readers and therefore, creates the most trust.
In the long run, this is much more lucrative because I will be building an audience that truly engages in my ideas, my products, and my message.
But the downside is that it is very work intensive and less “fluffy” and entertaining.
Long form goes deeper.

So which do you prefer?
Do you prefer the lighthearted and more entertaining style of the curated newsletter? Or do you like the more meaningful, more educational, and more intensive writing of the long form article?
