Focus
I’m currently on a plane. I’m flying back to Nashville from Boston.
Jules and the little man are still in Boston. They will be there for another few weeks. As I’ve written about on my newsletter, Jules is neck deep in a grueling amount of school work, so she needed to spend a month at her parents house so they can help watch the little man while she studies.
I flew up for 6 days so spend time with them, but I will be solo in Nashville for the next two weeks.
Leaving the little man was really awful. He’s so perfect and I can’t believe I am flying away from him. I feel like a bad parent, but in my heart I know Jules and I are making the right choice. We have to get through these next three weeks.
However, this doesn’t mean that I am on vacation. This isn’t a “home alone” type scenario where I can sit around in my boxers. No no no. This is time to focus. There is too much on the line for us right now and I can’t afford to let me attention slip.
What’s on the agenda?
First and foremost, I must keep my schedule. This means in bed by 9, up at 4:30 - 5. At the gym by 8. It will be very easy to slip into a “what’s the rush?” mindset. That’s not acceptable.
I must force myself to cook and keep my nutrition levels up.
I need to finalize the content schedule for Copyblogger. Stef and I are working on some really cool stuff, but we need to stay the course.
I need to get my book organized. This last week is the first time I feel behind on my writing. I can’t slip.
Keep my social media buzzing. I am REALLY hitting a great momentum with Operation Gary Vee. This week I started adding in video content to Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
Most importantly, above all else, I must find a nanny or a full tie babysitter.
I can not believe how hard it is to find a reliable person to help us. Everyone wants cash under the table and I’m shocked at how much money people want without even being willing to commit to a schedule.
The most paramount topic on my agency is to find a reliable nanny. Jules and I can’t keep doing this. It’s too hard for us to be working and her to be getting through school.
