Getting In the Game
One of my goals for this year is to do more face to face meetings.
When I lived in South Florida, I spent many afternoons taking lunches with strangers. There is something very unique about the culture in Florida, where people enjoy getting together and talking business over lunch. I always enjoyed it.
When I moved to Nashville, that all stopped. The culture, the weather, and the food aren’t conducive to those kind of conversations. (It’s hard to talk about new marketing opportunities while your hands are sopped in disgusting BBQ sauce.)
Now that I am in Denver, I am making a point to meeting people in the community and grabbing coffee or lunch with them.
It’s going to be more difficult now because of the kiddos, but it’s important for me to make this commitment. If I don’t I fear I’ll spend all of my time networking online and building business relationships that don’t have any depth.
I’ll keep you posted.
