I Don't Have Anything Good To Talk About

When I tell people I write every day, one of the first things people say is “how do you come up with so many ideas?”

How do you not?

How many ideas do you have in a day? How many thoughts do you have?

It’s not as though the ideas come first. More often than not, the writing comes first. Sometimes you simply force to words onto the page. After that, the ideas come.

I don’t write because I have a lot of ideas. I have a lot of ideas because I write.

The action comes before the inspiration.
