Realistically, I’ve probably had about 15.
I’m averaging about 5 a day.
There’s lots to catch up on. I don’t want to write a novel, so here’s pictures.
Yesterday, Jules and I spent the day in Toulouse. I love this city. It’s one of my favorite places I’ve ever been. We had lunch and took a selfie. She’s so pretty. :)
I had frog legs. They tasted sort of like calamari. I enjoyed them. They were fine. It’s not as good as a chicken wing but I could totally see how people could snack on them at a bar or something.
I also had another Duck Confit, which was amazing. When I get home, I will definitely start eating more duck.
As we were walking, Jules demanded that I turn around and pose for a picture. I usually don’t like getting my picture taken, but I really liked my outfit and I was feeling really happy. I think it shines through in this picture.
Today, we rented a car and drove to Carcassonne.
Remember the bride and groom I mentioned the other day? Well, we wanted to spend more time with them so we drove through the south of France (again) to go visit them.
We got a tiny little stick shift car. I got to drive manual transmission through Toulouse and through the countryside and then through this adorable little French town called Carcassonne. It was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done.
We met up with them and had the best lunch.
I had duck, again.
Here is Jules and Ciera (pronounced Keera, it’s an Irish name). She was the bride.
We talked about life and work and how much our little man has grown. Ciera was our babysitter in Nashville, so she really loves The Little Dude.
Carcassonne is a medieval city so walking through the old streets was so cool.
Jules and I snapped a quick selfie.
Then, we hopped back in the car and drove back to Toulouse. Jules fell asleep in the car ride home and I put the window down and cruised. It was so peaceful. I can’t tell you what it was about the drive that felt so special.
I would say it’s the gratitude. I can’t believe I got to travel to France with my wife and drive through the French countryside to watch my friends get married. What a gift. It was so beautiful.
When we got home, we dropped off the car and walked through the city.
I got my 4th cappuccino and my fifth chocolate croissant. Idk why I didn’t put the croissant in the picture.
Finally, we got home, had dinner on the balcony. And ate chocolate and cookies.
It’s been so good.
We miss the kiddos, but we are staying in the moment. Tomorrow, we take the train back to Paris and we will take a great make out picture in front of the Eifel Tower on Wednesday. However, I really want to go to The Lourve. I was to see The Mona Lisa, The Raft of Medusa, and The Coronation of Napoleon, as he is one of my top 3 favorite historical figures.
Lastly, yesterday we checked out the Capital building of Toulouse. There was a funny brochure with my name on it and this picture made Jules and I both laugh.
P.S. - Sorry if there were any spelling mistakes. It’s late and I’m tired and I don’t feel like reading through this again.
I love how happy you are. I would definitely have eaten 15 croissants. That & the coffees are my 2 favorite parts of Europe.
Looks like fun!
