May be this is the first time I heard about the limited time offering is organized by increasing the price but not by decreasing. As I remembered, one of the strategies from Seth Godin "This is Marketing" also mentioned that it is not the best habit to decrease the price in order to gain more attention and more audiences. He mentioned that the decrease in price is demonstrating the products being provided are lacking attention.
