I'm sitting on the floor next to Jules.
She woke up early to work on her business. I feel so proud of her and so inspired by her right now.
This morning, I’m going to talk about how cool she is.
LFG. 🔥 💖
Doing the Hard Things
Last night, Jules told me she hasn’t gotten as many sign-ups for her next event as she did for her last one. I asked if she did anything different or tried a new approach.
After we talked for a bit, she said, “I’m gonna have to DM and call people one by one to promote the event.”
This seemingly insignificant line made me feel so proud, because I know that I am married to a person who has courage.
This is the work most people shy away from, and it matters more than anything. This is the hard part.
When building a business, people love to believe there’s a framework or a checklist that guarantees success. LinkedIn loves to sell that idea, probably so people can pitch courses and Skool memberships.
But the truth is, most of the time, it’s about solving individual problems with no roadmap. It’s about figuring it out as you go along. It’s about doing the hard things most people avoid.
Today, I know she will do it. She will show up when no one is watching and without the safety net most people think they need.
The Willingness to Fail
For whatever reason, I’ve always compared entrepreneurship to skateboarding.
As a kid, I spent every possible moment on my skateboard. After thousands of hard falls, I realized skating is mostly falling.
If you’re learning a new trick, it might take hundreds or even thousands of attempts before you land it. You fall way more than you land. Skating is falling.
So is building a business.
People are afraid to fall. Not Jules. She is putting herself out there and making herself vulnerable. She will fall (metaphorically), and she’ll shake it off like it never happened.
Because falling is the process. There is no skating without falling, just like there’s no business without failing.
It’s a ratio of 100 to 1. For every win, there are a hundred falls.
Knowing my wife has the mental and emotional strength to handle constant failure makes me so proud of her. That’s the process. That’s all it is.
She Is Really Healing People
It’s incredible to witness the transformation in people after doing this work.
It’s opened my eyes to modern medicine and how backwards we have it. The tools we need to heal and reduce stress have been inside us all along. We’ve forgotten the power we hold. Watching Jules help people remember that is amazing.
Every time someone walks out of Juliana’s studio after a session, you can see the joy and lightness in their eyes.
Breathwork is the most powerful tool I’ve discovered on my own spiritual path, and it’s been a huge addition to my sobriety.
It’s great to see her helping people in this way, but selfishly, it’s so cool to see her so on fire and so engaged in what she is doing. She has a mission.
You know that feeling you get when you see someone focused, locked in, fully alive in what they’re doing? It makes me want to do better. It makes me feel optimistic about the world, because I can see how much good there is in people and how deeply we all want to connect.
Jules is connecting people. She is showing us what we’ve all forgotten. I am so proud to be her husband.

I remember, back in 2004, sitting in a coffee shop, day after day, emailing and calling prospective photographer clients I wanted to work with. It was a grind. It was unnerving, So much doubt ran through my head. So much anxiety and fear. But, all it takes is one spark of interest. The right timing. The right person to connect with. Definitely worth the effort. The trick is staying disciplined through the process.
Extra respect to her for building a business with two little kids! I know how much it takes. :)
