My 2023 Resolution: Learning to Say No
As I look into the new year, I can see two major areas where I would like to improve.
I want to add video to my content creation.
I want to say no more often.
I’ve always wanted to publish more videos, but my problem has been that I don’t like editing. It’s tedious and annoying and it always feel like it puts a barrier in front of my ability to publish. The perfectionist in me doesn’t like to publish videos that aren’t at least somewhat professional.
But I am working past that by not taking myself too seriously.
Last year, I discovered Peter Zeihan, and I’ve noticed how he is creating a wonderful YouTube following by publishing unedited, talking head videos into his phone.
So I’m copying him and using the same technique. I don’t have to over think it.
Next, I’m committed this year not to start any new projects. I have plenty to work with, and most importantly, I want to focus on the areas that I know I already thrive.
I’m a sales guy. I want to continue growing my brands and bringing in higher dollar clients. I am going to stop comparing myself to others who have “sexier” business models such as SaaS or media.
Today’s issue is a combination of my two goals. I have published a video all about my commitment to saying no.
