My Personal Brand is Growing!
3 months ago, I decided to go all in on building my following. Now that Copyblogger is in good hands, I have time to work on some personal projects. I’ve dedicated myself to growing my Twitter and LinkedIn followings.
Holy smokes! It’s working really well.
In the last month, I’ve gotten 2000+ LinkedIn followers.
I’ve gotten 3000+ Twitter followers.
I’ve gone viral 4 or 5 times.
My email list has been skyrocketing.
Here are some interesting examples.
1. A recent LinkedIn post
2. A viral Twitter thread last week.
3. A snapshot of the last 3 months of new email subscribers. (Can you tell when I started taking things seriously?)
4. Last but not least, here is a quick snap of my last two newsletters, with a very high open rate, click through rate, and low unsubscribe rate!
This is the metric that means the most to me, because it tells me that people genuinely enjoy my Friday newsletter.
I’m really excited about this. I’ve always wanted to create a brand around my own ideas, thoughts, writing, and content. Now I’m finally doing it.
My goals are …
20,000 Twitter followers by the end of the year
10,000 LinkedIn followers by the end of the year
8,000 email subscribers by the end of the year.
Keep in mind, all of this feeds into my private membership program called The Bootstrapper. If I do it right, I think I can be at $10,000 a month in revenue by the end of the year as well.
