Social Media Is Killing Kids
People are always shocked when I tell them I don’t have social media on my phone.
I’m a hypocrite.
I fully advocate you to use social media to achieve your goals while also advocating that you spend as little time on social media as possible.
Social media is poison. It’s the kind of poison you drink on purpose. Like beer, or Coca Cola, or porn.
I spent the last 20 minutes writing a rant about the insurrectionist Josh Hawley, and the painfully uncomfortable moment where he cornered Mark Zuckerberg into apologizing to family members who have been harmed by social media.
We all know the insurrectionist Josh Hawley was doing it to get clicks and likes on social media. Hawley wants to go viral. That’s the main incentive for congress. They want Twitter followers more than anything.
Soundbites > legislation.
I have since deleted my 20 minute rant, because I was coming across an whiny and douchey.
Instead, I would like to point you to an article published today called METAstasis, written by Scott Galloway.
The post is informative, and remarkable, and sad.
I’m so grateful my brain was (mostly) developed before social media came into my life. No way my kids get a cell phone before age 12.
