The Importance of Good Writing

I have been quietly working on a new project for the past month. The project is called Stem Cell Authority.

We are building a resource that gives credible news and information about stem cell treatment. The research behind stem cell treatment is groundbreaking and exciting, especially in the areas of joint repair and pain.

However, it is a new science and one that needs to be well documented and spoken about openly so that the community can have free and respectful dialogue about what is scientifically proven, what is theory, what is speculation and what is bullshit.

We hired a writer to start putting some of this content together. When the articles came back, I was let down.

The articles severely lacked personality and context.

When creating written content, I believe it is important to see yourself as more than a robot spewing information. People need context, people need personality and they need space to breathe.

Even the dryest of subjects can be written about and spoken about in a manner that keeps your attention and has you feeling like you learned something.

There is a difference between absorbing information and learning. There is a great separation between the endless river of words being published every day, and the minority of well written, well researched and well-presented blog posts and articles.

Write content that people want to read. Create art that makes people feel something. Words matter.

Without that level of emotion, writing will be missing humanity. Humanity is the most important part.
