The Value Of Saying The Same Things Over And Over Again
Repeating yourself is in fact, a very profitable skill.
I do (mostly) the same things every day. I have a few higher arching concepts that lay the foundation behind how I operate …
sales come first
boring is profitable
automate my finances
collect email addresses
write well
share my experience
It’s tricky, because how many people want to read my writing when I’m always repeating myself? How many times have you heard my say that good writing is the most profitable skill you can have, or that “I have no advice to give, only experience to share?”
The consistency can create repetition. But that’s a good thing.
Today, I am giving you 3 reasons why you want to repeat yourself.
LFG. 🔥
P.S. - In a bit of a rush this morning. If there’s a typo in here, don’t hold it against me.
It’s Not Good To Change Your Mind All The Time
This is why I stopped paying attention to what all the online business experts have to say. If I followed the advice of everyone on YouTube, I would never get anything done.
I’ve developed my own personal strategy and I have built my lifestyle around my strategy. I believe in sales, boring work, profits, and building great teams. To me, business is actually pretty simple. People try to make it complicated because everyone is fighting for the 9 second clip of attention on TikTok.
I believe that is a huge waste of time.
All the time I save researching, learning, and changing strategies is time that I use to execute on what generates the real results within my personal holdings company.
Granted, everyone needs to evolve. When I see something (such as A.I.) that is completely changing the landscape of my business, I pay attention and I go all in. However, the new technology doesn’t shift my strategy or my personal thesis on how my business is run.
Someone Is Hearing Your Message For The First Time
It’s easy to forget that the vast majority of people in the world, don’t know my message.
You repeat yourself because every day, new people are discovering you for the first time. We call this the curse of knowledge, where over time, we start to assume that everyone knows the things we know simply because to us it’s common knowledge.
Repeating yourself puts you in a position to be able to capture the attention and imagine of potential new customers. If you’re always flip flopping on your message, this would never happen.
Everything Takes Longer Than You Think
I remember ten years ago, Bryan and I were thinking of expanding Stodzy outside of behavioral health. We had finally hit $1M a year and in our minds, that somehow meant that we had tapped out the market.
So then we decided to become a “healthcare marketing company” that worked within the entire landscape of healthcare. The idea was to try and take the SEO rankings from Healthcare Success.
It was a disaster. It was a huge distraction that set our company back a year or more. This was especially tragic because in reality, we hadn’t even come close to completely owning the behavioral healthcare space.
Our egos, and mostly our impatience, tricked us into believing we should be doing something different, when all we had to do was keep going and do more.
Love you guys. Talk to you tomorrow.
Tim

Impressive post for being in a rush! Great stuff as always
Excellent post, Tim! I am totally believer that you need to repeat many times what you say because this the way to become more and more clear and align your sayings to your values. As an avid learner, amateur copywriter, and instructional designer, I believe in the saying "repetition is the mother of learning." In learning, business, and marketing, it's essential to develop a core message and then adapt and repeat it across various platforms, like social media, to make an impact. Thanks Tim for remind us that we need sometimes to return to the basics!
