True Detective Season 4
In my opinion, the first season of True Detective is the best season of television ever.
It’s obviously subjective, because you can’t say True Detective is the best show ever, as each season has a different plot and a different cast. But season 1 is a masterpiece. I’ve never seen anything like it.
It was perfect.
Season 2 of True Detective was good, but it missed the mark. Then Season 3 was really good, but the ending was a let down. Honestly, I’m still confused about the ending to season 3.
But so far, season 4 is AWESOME!!!
It’s so good.
One of the things that True Detective does that is so brilliant is it makes the setting feel like a character. That has been true for every season.
Season 1, you could feel the endless heat and southern humidity in the Louisiana swamp.
Season 2, you could feel the scum, the crime, and the concrete noise of Los Angeles.
Season 3, you could feel the Ozarks. You could practically smell it.
Season 4 takes place in Alaska above the arctic circle, during the “night” season, where the sun never punctures the horizon.
The place matters just as much as the people and the events. You can truly feel the cold and the darkness. You can feel the dead.
You have to watch it.
P.S. - Jodi Foster is legendary status. I think she might have a career in acting.
