We Made It - Miami Day 3
It feels so good to be here.
The drive was long, but relatively smooth. The only issue was little man getting cranky from being in his car seat for so long. He’s at the age where he is crawling and grabbing every thing he sees, so sitting idle is no longer his acceptable to him.
He’s not a slug anymore. He’s a spider monkey.
It feels great to be here. Within the first night, Jules and I remembered right away why we want to get out of Nashville so badly.
There are kids skateboarding in a public park right across the street. There’s an entire row of amazing restaurants down the street that aren’t BBQ. There are couples walking their families and dogs and healthy people working out by the beach.
I’ve really enjoyed the time in Nashville and I am grateful to be there. I love our neighbors and I love our home, but I am so ready to get out of there. There’s not much to do, especially if you don’t drink.
The food isn’t good, the roads are bad, the public utilities really stink (my recycling still hasn’t been picked up because of the snowstorms from 2 weeks ago) and there is a broken down car every quarter mile on the side of the road.
But I’m ready for the next chapter. I can’t wait to see where life takes us.
Will it be Miami? I don’t know. I love the emerging tech scene in Miami. I like the tax policy in Florida. I LOVE the recovery scene here. But, I already lived in Ft. Lauderdale and Boca. Would moving here be a step backwards? Would it be falling back into my comfort zone?
Of course, there are other things to think about now. Will my little dude be able to make friends here? What are the sports teams like?
Adulting …
Today will be a great day. Talk to you tomorrow.
