What's Going On With Me Lately?
Hello.
It’s been a few days since I sat down to write on The Blank Page.
Here’s an update on my life.
1. Little dude is turning into a little boy. 👦
He’s so adorable. He’s teaching himself to walk by holding this wooden walker on wheels. A few weeks ago, he stood up with it and now he flies through the living room pushing this walker in front of it. I’ve stood him up and let go a few times to see if he could stand on his own. He hasn’t taken any steps yet but you can see he wants to.
He can now walk with his mom or I only holding one of his hands. He used to need us to hold both hands and if you let go he would freak out and collapse onto the ground.
He’ll be walking any day now.
2. I’m having a lot of fun with the podcast.
When Ethan and I decided to give this thing a go, our only rule was not to take it too seriously. It’s not that we don’t want it to be great, it’s that we wanted to remove any expectation of results or limited thinking on “the way it needs to be.”
It’s been really fun. I genuinely look forward to recording every Friday. I’m learning a lot and the joy of podcasting has returned.
Also, I found this amazing software called podpage. It turns your RSS feed into a beautiful website. Soon, we’ll have a finished website where people can find the show notes, videos, and transcripts.
3. My fitness routine is a real joy.
In this week’s newsletter, I wrote about community. More specifically about how I am remembering what it feels like to be part of a real community and not an online community.
Most of this has been a result of Jules and I going to the YMCA every morning to workout. They have a childcare program there, so every morning we drop off the little man and have an hour and a half to workout and talk and set the tone for the day.
My fitness is always a huge part of my life, but for the last few years, I’ve been “squeezing” exercise into my life. I cram it in whenever I can because it’s a priority to me and that’s what I needed to do.
But now with this great new routine, we have been loving the focused time and loving the process of fitness. It’s always best when you can measure your progress along the way. I am getting stronger.
That’s it for now. I hope you have a great week.
