Women In The Squat Rack
For the last few months or so, Jules and I have been counting the ratio of men and women in the weight room. And more specifically, the squat rack.
On average, based on our very scientific reporting, the ratio is around 3:1, women to men.
To make the study even more scientific, the women at the squat rack are almost always more fit, more disciplined, more attractive, and show up more regularly than the men. I can’t even picture a man other than myself who’s regularly at the squat rack. I can think of like 10 women I see day in and day out.
Now, I realize this is an overly generic case study that’s not an actual study at all, but let’s just call it what it is. In modern America, men are falling much further behind women.
I like to listen to a podcaster named Scott Galloway. He talks a lot about the masculinity crisis in America. I think the data he points out is very concerning. In aggregate, men are falling drastically behind women in many areas.
Women are far more likely to graduate college.
Women are far more likely to own a home before the age of 30, and in their 30’s.
Women are far less likely to be in trouble with the law.
Men are significantly more likely to commit suicide.
Why is this happening?
Well .. the internet has a lot to do with it.
Dating apps are a funny thing, because dating apps have an innate power law. A very small minority of the men in dating apps get a vast majority of the women. As a result, there are huge numbers of men who can’t get dates. So then what happens? They watch porn and they isolate.
Porn is mental poison. Porn completely kills the libido effect in men that forces them to make something of themselves as such that they attract a mate.
So yes, we should celebrate that women have made such powerful strides and advancements in society. Full stop. This is great.
But real talk, weak men running rampant in our society is a disaster.
Who will build the buildings? Who will build the bridges? Who will be the dads and the fathers? Who will fight the wars? What in the world will America be without strong men?
If you’re a struggling man and you’re reading this, don’t go home and get ice cream and watch YouPorn and Netflix. You should do the opposite.
You should say hi to a women (or man 😜) you find attractive and learn from the terrible awful sickening feeling of innevitable rejection. You should go to the gym, every day, and work out till you’re exhausted. Don’t have money for a gym? Do push-ups.
You should do hard shit. You should do hard things precisely because they are hard.
You should find other men to bond with. Share your feelings, your emotions, your fears. Masculinity has nothing to do with vulnerability. Find other men to connect with.
If you’re a man, you should be physically strong. It doesn’t mean you need to be a power lifter, but if you can’t do 5 pull ups, then how could you possible save your family in an emergency?
If you’re a man, you should learn to make money, make as much of it as you can, and never ever apologize for it. More importantly, you should use that money to give back to your family or your community.
You should be comfortable being uncomfortable. This means knowing how to regulate your emotions and doing what needs to be done regardless of how you feel.
Masculine men understand their emotions, feel their emotions, but don’t ACT their emotions.
Lastly, if you’re a man, especially a man who is struggling in life, then please, please PLEAAASSEEE get in the squat rack.
